In a bid to encourage public and private sector business entities to adopt and inculcate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a part of their "business policy", which goes beyond statutory and stakeholder obligations, the Japan Sri Lanka Technical & Cultural Association (JASTECA) has organized a competition titled "JASTECA CSR Awards" to recognize and reward them for their efforts and commitment.
JASTECA CSR Awards is conducted in memory of JASTECA's founder President, late Mr. Ian Dias Abeysinghe. The objective in organizing this event is to contribute significantly towards Society, Economy and our Natural Environment by encouraging organizations to conduct CSR activities. This competition has encouraged organizations to go beyond their statutory and stakeholder obligations and undertake philanthropic activities in reaching out to the integration of social and business goals.
JASTECA hopes to attract more contenders for CSR Awards Competition year by year and its objective is to help develop more responsible corporate citizens who will not only focus on profits but the triple bottom-line, which will propel them as well as the country towards "sustainable development". It is expected that society, people and the environment will benefit immensely as a result of this initiative taken by JASTECA.
We, the Japan Sri Lanka Technical & Cultural Association, (JASTECA) are the sole Alumni Association of The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), Japan in Sri Lanka. Our Association is formed of returned trainees from scholarship programs offered by AOTS. Thus, the returned, enlightened trainees are eligible to become members of Japan Sri Lanka Technical & Cultural Association (JASTECA).
